Focus on Imaging - NEC Birmingham

Well, it really is hard to believe that we are at that time of year again - the largest trade show in the UK is back at the NEC - Focus On Imaging - the place to be for photographers, new products on show, lots of gear to drool over, you know the sort of thing :)

This year I am exhibiting for world renowned, multi-award winning photographer, Jerry Ghionis. As Jerry's UK representative, I will be promoting and selling his products - 3 DVD's and his Pickpocket products - all inspirational and a must-have for wedding and portrait photographers. Jerry is also bringing a new coffee table book out soon, Gorgeous, and we will be taking pre-orders on that at the show. His new website for photographers, the ice society, will be going live within the next couple of days and we are going to have a demo available for all to view at the show - so come by and see us, stand E74.

Oh, yes, I will have the help of my glamorous assistant and fellow photographer, David Pearce (ok, not that glamorous, haha) - thanks in advance, David, looking forward to working with you :)

Sloppy Dancing ...

This got totally lost at the bottom of another post ... so I am reposting as it deserves it own place here ...

Sloppy Dancing ... An act of getting out of your shell in a public place. Dancing should be original, fun and without music at time of dancing.

I have had the go-ahead to post the 3rd Annual Sloppy Dancing Video ... from the creative desk of JP & Amy Prutch, Randy Kepple and some sidekick bloke called Mark ;)

For those of you who know me, what can I say ... I was in the moment - for those of you who don't, I'm far to sensible to be associated with this sort of nonsense and am not in it. In fact, I'm not in it 7 times in total. Comments welcome ! I think !

Hmmm ... I thought I was WAY geekier than this !!

Thanks to Randy for pointing out that since leaving my IT job, I am no longer a true geek !

International Creative Collaboration ...

Otherwise known as "watch out, the Yanks are coming !"

I came back from the convention in Tampa fired up and ready for the season ahead ... but I soon realised that this is a fairly lonely career. While in Tampa, I met hundreds of photographers, mainly from the US, but really from all over the world. In the middle of all the melee, I met Randy Kepple from Vancouver (the American one, not the Canadian one, LOL) and we soon realised we were very similar, creatively speaking, so hey, why not start a creative project together, with challenges throughout the year, supporting, critiquing and generally being "colleagues".

Now, with an 8 hour time difference, this was never going to be easy - but who needs easy, right? Watch out for our new site, coming very soon, with challenges, images, musings and guest photographers dropping in every now and again too ! I hope you enjoy the ride - I know I will !

In the meantime, I'm going to add a self portrait - dedicated to my new creative partner - just because he likes it :)

Oh yeah, the name of the post is NOT a giveaway for our new project name ... but it's close :)
